What is PhotoDerm® VL (Vasculight)?
PhotoDerm® VL is a non-invasive medical technology that uses pulsed light or laser light to treat facial capillaries and spider leg veins, as well as other vascular conditions.
Can all types of leg veins be treated?
Spider leg veins respond to treatment the best. Bulging varicose veins should be treated by a vascular surgeon.
Will treatment hurt?
There will be minimal (if any) discomfort because cool air is applied during the treatment.
Are there any side effects?
You may experience some temporary side effects such as slight reddening of the skin or local swelling. In rare instances there may be short-term blistering or changes in skin color, which can last several months.
How many treatments are required?
The number of treatments varies. An average of five treatments is necessary for leg veins and two treatments for facial vessels. Each session generally takes 30 minutes.
Will insurance cover my treatment?
Treatments of a cosmetic nature are not covered.
Are there restrictions on my activity after treatment?
You can return to work the same day. Avoidance of aerobic exercice for 24 hours is advised. You should limit exposure to the sun, which is always a good idea.
