and Non-Permanent Make-up

Judy Bourn, who provides this service at The Center, is CPMA certified and has been practicing as a licensed cosmetologist since 1974. She is a member of the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals and the National Board of Cosmetology. She has been recognized many times for her professional involvement, most notably the "Look Good Feel Better" program for cancer patients. Permanent make-up or micropigmentation is used to enhance ones natural coloring. It can be done on brows, around eyes, or lips. She also uses this technique to correct some scars, uneven pigment, or facial asymmetry.

What is permanent make-up (micropigmentation)?

It is a non-surgical procedure where sterile, hypo-allergenic pigment (color) is carefully applied into the dermal layer of the skin. After a minor healing process, the make-up will not smudge, smear, or run. The colors are custom blended to work with skin tone, eye and hair colors for a natural appearance.

Is there discomfort involved?

The sensation of micropigmentation can differ from person to person. A topical anesthetic is applied to reduce some discomfort.

Is it safe?

Yes. We follow all standards set by the Center of Disease Control. All supplies are one-time use only!

What if styles change?

Each procedure recreates a natural look, so it can never go out of style.

How long will the make-up last?

It is considered permanent, however, fading occurs naturally over time and you may need a touch-up after a few years.

Judy Bourn is available every Monday at The Center and also provides non-permanent make-up consultations and procedures. To schedule your initial appointment, call 802-864-0404 or toll-free 877-380-0404.
